The Best Portable Fish Finder
Finding a good portable fish finder can be difficult. There are so many to choose from and so many functions. The top brands right now are Hawkeye, Eagle, Hummingbird, Lowrance, Magellan GPS and Garmin. Hummingbird is the brand that sells most of the portable fish finders and is known for their high quality.
Best Portable Fish Finder?
Can you pick one portable fish finder that is the best deal for everyone? Maybe not for everyone but for most people the Hawkeye Portable Fish Finder FF3355P is the best one. The first thing that attracts me is the price of under $100. Some the factors that make this my top pick can be found below:
- Great bottom locator
- Nice and compact design
- Easy one touch programming
- Simplicity, you can easily reach the most useful features
- Bluetooth and speakerphone is build-in
- Voice activated dialing (nice when calling for aid to land the huge fish)

On a close second place I have the Garmin Fish Finder 250 for slightly over $100. This portable fish finder can be worn as a watch on your wrist.

When I decided on the best portable fish finders out there I think the price is a big factor. You can spend up to $2000 on the more expensive brands but I don’t think you get very much “bang for the buck”. Another thing about portable fish finders is that you use them in pretty rough conditions and ending up dropping or destroying a fish finder is common. Then you should just be able to go buy another one without having to live on bread and water for a month. If you have any other portable fish finder that you would like to see as the best one, just contact me and I will consider it.
